And I should probably be doing artwork.

Alright, so I'm updating this thingie here.

Artwork is put on hold for the time being as my hard drive kicked the bucket a few weeks ago.  I have something sketched on the temporary hard drive I'm using now, but my tablet acts funny with it so I'm just going to wait until my new computer shows up.

Upon looking through some of my things I'm still having some serious issues with my color palettes being ALL OVER THE PLACE.  The colors are -too- bright and cartoony... so I'm considering taking some memes and adjusting my color choices.  Perhaps even making a cheat sheet for myself.  "If you would normally use this color, use this one instead!"  At least until I can tone some things down a little.

I've sorta-kinda started playing WoW again.  Currently it's like a once a week thing until I can get over and get Sara's comp up and running for her.  When she's on I'll prolly be playing more often.  I'm currently sitting on a ridiculous amount of high level characters and no real reason to play them.  I'm getting my fill of RP in other places, so that isn't even keeping me there.  AIM and Gdocs, mostly.  It's like how I used to RP before wow. lol  AIM and forums... gdocs is basically the same idea.  Always preferred forum-style RP to anything else since you can write and write and write and describe everything.  Hell, it's how half the characters (maybe more...) I still have floating around even came to be. "Lol, I wanna RP something like this!"

But yea... that's pretty much it. lol

New computer coming hopefully soon (it's sitting in the queue to get put together), been hanging out a lot with Sara and Dara and I'm pretty much the happiest I've been in a long time.

So the last three pictures I did were of three of "my" goddesses and it got me thinking.  I usually don't put a whole lot of effort into designing the gods because I've always given people the option of taking one for their persona and designing them themselves.  However, there was a time when I had designed one (Aku) and someone else had taken him as a persona and redesigned him. (Although, later on that person renounced it and Aku went back to his original design.)

Which has me seriously considering just working on designing some of the gods.  Why not?  What's really gonna stop me?  I mean, it's already been established in their lore that it's entirely possible for mortal creatures to ascend to godhood, which would make it perfectly reasonable for someone to take the old god and redesign it.  Even makes it perfectly reasonable for that god to change gender.

Since ARC and Hikari have taken some very artistic liberties with my initial insistance on the gods' markings, it made me go "Hey, let's do that too."  So you have Kura - which nearly her entire body is covered with divine markings in the "old" style.  Then there's Inochi, who's markings aren't as extensive, but still present in a newer style.  This is part of the reason I actually really like getting other people involved in the creation process... especially with something as big as this.

One of them in particular has been dancing around in my head and I finally got the chance to put her down on paper.  Dreams.  Goddess of Dreams, who was originally an elf before her ascension.  I went with a definitely "new" style divine markings.  Using gemstones instead of the typical circles that appear in the divine markings.  Compared to someone with older style, her markings are much more simple, but it works out for the character.  I may tone her skin a little differently, kinda like what I did with Shadows.

I apologize if this doesn't make a lot of sense, I'm sort of just writing what pops into my head at what moment.

ANYWAYS.

I suppose what I'm saying is that considering this is my current interest, there may be a lot of pictures of the various different gods.  Which probably means I should put some effort into detailing on DA a lot of the information pertaining to them and the Five Worlds they govern.  I sat down about a week ago and started fleshing out the Five Worlds.  So far only one of them needs named and... everything.  Heh, it's actually the one world I haven't done ANYTHING with.  Most of the other ones have been influenced by several people because I used them for some story or RP or something.

... Which come to think of it, the copyrights for this universe would be huge.  Would have to include the people that just helped me name things. xD  Like... I think there's one town on Dis that the only contribution one of my friends made to the whole universe was naming the place.

Oh dear... probably means I should also set up a timeline of some kind... or something... At least mark important events.  Last time I tried to give a rundown of the gods, the whole thing was a jumbled mess because they're just a jumbled mess in my head.  I know I have a thing about them around here somewhere... should look at it and see what I've changed and what's stayed the same through all the years.

... These guys have been around for about ten years.

What to write about?

I was going to write a review on 2011 and such, but I've forgotten most of the profound nonsense I wanted to write in it, so instead I opted to just skip that whole deal and update my journal with something that was less date specific.

My life is very slowly coming together.  One by one the things I was freaking the fuck out about are resolving themselves and I'm less and less stressed.  Which is a good thing.  Once my whole living situation stresses are over, I'm sure my brain will move on to less important things.  Not to say other things are not important, they're just less important than making sure I have a place to live that I can afford with three children.

My christmas presents are coming along nicely.  I finished the one for AutumnrainChaos and have the lineart for the other done.  I've also picked out a reference photo for a third, to make a complete set... even though the third isn't for anyone in particular.

And I suppose that actually wraps everything up.
